Biography
LUKE DORRINGTON
Media Innovation and Leadership
Television runs in my blood. Growing up with a father who spent three decades at Channel 9 Melbourne, I experienced the magic
of broadcast media from an early age. Those formative years in television studios shaped not just my career path, but my
understanding of media’s transformative power in connecting
businesses with audiences.
With two decades of professional experience, I’ve evolved from mastering traditional broadcast sales to pioneering digital
transformation strategies. As Station Manager for Seven
Network’s Central Queensland operations, I led the integration
of traditional television with emerging digital platforms, while maintaining the community connection that makes regional
media unique.
My journey through the industry reads like a timeline of media’s digital evolution. From negotiating multi-million-dollar agency deals at Nine Network to developing innovative sales strategies at Seven Network, I’ve consistently stayed ahead of industry trends while delivering exceptional results. This includes achieving 96%+ of annual budgets over five consecutive years and maintaining market share above 65% against competitors
Leadership, for me, extends beyond revenue targets, I’ve built and mentored high-performing sales teams. My approach combines
strategic vision with authentic human connection, whether training future leaders or developing community partnerships.
Currently expanding my expertise through Oxford University’s
Executive Leadership Programme, I pair contemporary leadership studies with deep entrepreneurial foundations – from my Bachelor of Business at RMIT to advanced studies at Harvard Business School Online. This continuous learning approach, coupled with comprehensive digital CTV certification across Google, Microsoft, YouTube, Think Box TV Masters, IAB Australia and emerging
platforms, ensures I remain at the forefront of media innovation.
Community engagement remains central to my philosophy. From pioneering AFL’s grassroots sponsorship strategy in Queensland to supporting initiatives like Ronald McDonald House Charities,
I believe media’s true power lies in its ability to strengthen
community bonds while delivering commercial outcomes.
“In an era of digital transformation, success comes
not just from adapting to change, but from anticipating it while staying true to the fundamental power of human connection.“
